RAK Machineries at its workshop facility in Ras Al Khaimah successfully converts Caterpillar bulldozers into a hydraulic Pipelayers. The converted Pipelayers provide safe and easy operation with a complete hydraulic kit. The sideboom is attached to a high-drive tractor to convert the machine from a dozer to a Pipelayer with lifting capacities ranging from 90,000 to 200,000 pounds (40 to 90 metric tons) at a four-foot boom extension. The lift capacities are comparable to the Caterpillar Pipelayers in the same class.

The Pipelayer is designed with a simplified control system that greatly reduces operator training time and increases operator safety.

Pipelayers are manufactured, installed, and tested to meet the requirements outlined in ANSI/AMSE B30.14-2004 for sideboom tractors. Capacity ratings are made with the tractor on flat, level ground with the rating load hanging from the load-line hook per SAE J743-92. All structural welding complies with the American Welding Society (AWS) Code Welding Earthmoving and Construction Equipment D14.3-94.
